Every year for the past 8 years, I've taken high school students to the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks in New York state for a summer outdoor leadership program. We camp, hike, perform trail maintenance etc. Every year we also have a contest of who has the most bug bites. Chaperones have it easy because we sleep in a screened in cabin but the kids sleep down by the brook in open-faced lean-tos. Last year's winner had a combined 200+ mosquito and black fly bites. Nothing seems to work as a biting fly deterrent. I can't WAIT to try Dont Bite Me this year!! I will definitely be reporting back. (samples would be great -- i could pass some out to the kids and do a comparison study between those with the patches and those without . . .)" Erin McAllister, Ridgewood, NJ |

One of my craziest bug bite stories has to be rushing my 3 year old son to the doctor. It began when I got up and took my son to the office with me. When I got there I went to take him out of the car and went into a panic when I looked at him. He had big red welts all over his face. I just knew he had chicken poxs and called his doctor and argued with the nurse about why his chicken pox vaccine didn't work. I was so argumentative and she kept saying he did get his shots. She asked me to bring him in right away. I was so embarrassed when the doctor took one look and said he had been bitten over and over by mosquitoes. I know I get mosquitoes in my car but never dreamed they had feasted on my little boy. I was very embarrassed and had to apologize to everyone at the doctors office. Needless to say you can't even walk out my door at home without doing a dance to try to keep the mosquitoes off you. You literally get 20 bites in seconds. Bridgette Kramer, Tampa, FL |

We were at an amusement park where they had a large wooden cut-out that you stand behind and stick your head through the hole to take a picture. It looked like a fun photo spot so I told my little girl to stand behind it. All the sudden she started screaming as she had been bit by a wasp right on her lip. It immediately swelled up making her look like a prize fighter! Luckily, an ice pop took care of the pain and swelling. I wish we would have had some kind of repellent on her that day, as it ruined our day and we had to leave. Kelly Sheeley, Saylorsburg, PA |

I was camping with some friends in Island Park. My buddy and his girl went off into the bushes for a while, when they came back, they were eaten alive everywhere by mosquitoes. It was so bad they could hardly sit, or sleep on their backs for weeks. Between the medicine and the bites they were not "Happy Campers". Lesson learned I guess." Sherrie Clifford, Idaho |

We started out to go fishing & camping. Got there and noticed we forgot bug spray. When we got out of the truck the biting and flying insects were really terrible. Couldn't feel them bite, but they sure left big welts, looked like we had hives. Needless to say we had to get back in the truck and leave. We thought they were going to carry us away they were so bad. Lucinda Faith, Bicknell, IN |

I was 19 and deathly afraid of bugs. I was in the shower and noticed a black dot under my breast. I looked closer and realize it was a tick!! I jumped out of the shower screaming for my sister to Come save me!!!" She opened the bathroom door and there I am in all my glory pointing under my breast crying begging her to get it off me. She starts laughing which makes me laugh thinking how this looks. We then went back and forth on who would use the tweezers to get the tick. I wanted to do it myself but every time I saw the tick I'd start crying and every time she'd come at me with the tweezers I'd start laughing. This went on for 20 minutes and I was late for work. When I was a kid I decided to add a bee to my new "bug" collection. I caught a bee with a small net and tried to grab it on its sides. Needless to say the bee stung me resulting in a tearful conclusion to the bug collection." Susan Kenzle, Austin, TX |

My husband was about three years old and outside gardening with his father. He was doing the dance like most little children do when they need to go to the bathroom. SO, his father decides to teach his son how to go" behind a tree. My husband recalls this like it was yesterday. He says he drops his pants like he was told to "water" the tree like his daddy said to. Then when he pulls his pants back up he goes to screaming and crying and dancing all around even more. His daddy comes to his aid immediately and again drops his pants to find a pesky little grasshopper had jumped in and decided to pinch what was there to pinch. My husband to this day will not let his 6 year old son "water" the trees in our yard. Kristine Lapine, Brimley, MI |

In 2003 we took a vacation to see my husband's grandfather. At the time we still were smokers and would go outside at night as to not smoke in the house. I have always been a magnet for mosquito bites and being in Arkansas was the worst. My legs were so eaten alive that I was literally crying from the pain. I have tried just about every product on the market including OFF!" and I still get bitten. I would love to try this product out! Thank you very much for the giveaway!" While it bothers me that I am the target of mosquitoes thirst for blood and bees tendency to swarm, I do have one advantage over many other people: I am very very pale. Anytime I have ever ended up in Urgent Care, the triage nurse takes one look at me and assumes I am about to faint, and bumps me up the line! I am always honest and tell them that am pale naturally" it usually confers upon me the coveted "She's Next!" Eileen Coan, University, OH |

One time when I took my dog to the vet she got bit by some kind of bug. Her eyes swelled up and she could hardly breath. She got bumps all over her. Dawn Hecke, Ingleside, IL |

My daughter Emily is severely attractive to mosquitoes. Even if they are not visible to us when we are out and about she will still come home with multiple bites on her body, mostly her legs. The mosquitoes leave such large bumps and welts on her skin. Recently we were at a bbq where the tiki torches and citronella candles were lit but, the "skeeters" were still out in full force. We placed one Don't Bite Me patch on her lower back in a clean dry area two hours before we were to go out. She went swimming and was playing in the yard where the mosquitoes were and no bites!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. Not one bite. I was so skeptical buying these patches because of her sensitivity to the summer bugs but they work awesome! I am definitely buying more and will continue to use the patches forever. I am totally hooked on this fabulous product. No more mosquito welts on my daughters skin and no more crying from itching. Thank you so very much!" Judy Edelman, Gloucester, NJ |

Last summer I went to the beach with my boyfriend (now husband) and after spending a wonderful day at the beach I woke up the following day with a bunch of mosquito bites on my leg. I immediately knew that it must of been from being out the night before at the beach without repellent. It got so bad that not only did it itch tremendously but I got huge red bumps. After a few days, my leg got really swollen to the point that I ended up going to the Urgent Care because it hurt to walk. My leg was double the size. My boyfriend could not believe how bad my leg got. It ruined my plans for going to the beach that entire week or two. I was given antibiotics to help with the infection and swollen area. I've tried so many different products like the repellent OFF and it does not seem to work that great on me. I hope I can win this giveaway so that i can try your products and hopefully i can have a better summer this year. Thanks, Sincerely Priscilla Frost, Spring Valley, CA |
